You say goodbye... I say hello to future considerations.

Coach Puhalski was busy as could be today by making a couple deals.

One of Coach Puhalski's deals had sent defensemen Chris Brooks and Jeremy Swanson to the Columbia Inferno for future considerations.

Swanson would not be gone long from the North Division, as later in the day, Columbia had dealt Swanson to the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Coach P's second move today sent Matt Johnson to the Elmira Jackals for more future considerations.

WTF... All I can say is WTF. We are down defensemen and we get rid of 2. I know swanson was injured, but look at it this way.

We traded an injured man and another man that has 1 goal in 5 years. What kind of "Future Consideration" are we gonna get.

And maybe if we keep giving away players, we will stay as terrible as we are now, or could it be, get worse.

Something's gotta give, I know season ticket holders that have swore not to buy next season. Better get it in gear to bring the fans back.

i soooooo agree what is with this if this keeps up maybe my children and i can put some xtra money away for vacation by not attending anymore nailers games!
Are they trying to do away with the nailers????? We need to keep hockey alive here not flush it down the drain!

I'm so done with this season after Moondog Bobblehead Night. That's my next and last game. I can't stand watching us get whipped on anymore. It's embarrassing.

If we get anything more than a bag of pucks for Brooks I will consider it a good deal. Someone on another message board said it best, let's bring in some college guys to fight for spots for next season.

I'm with Justin on this one. Brooks just stands in front of net & watches the game go by. Swanson has been bruised more times than my ego and we can lose with or without Johnson. Maybe "future considerations" means they will only score 7 goals instead of 9 the next time we play them!!

what? Brooks is a stud... NOT! haha, a bag of pucks would be too much for that turd.

I'm more curious than anything else to see what our future considerations will be at the end of the year.

I cannot remember such a disappointing season in the history of Wheeling hockey.

I find it odd that we traded for future considerations when Columbia turns around and gets Eric Lundberg and Jeremy Schenderling for Chris Brooks and they also sent Swanson to Cincinnati for A.J. Bozoian and Travis Fuller.

Could we have not made the same trades for the same players? Or just get any players? Seriously! Fuller had 25 points with the Cyclones (13G,12A) and Bozoian is a +4 which would lead our team.

We get basically nothing for our players, and some other team gets 4 guys in return. Something isn't right about that.

First the team is giving away tickets and now it seems that they're giving away players.

I'm probably the only one that heard it on the "Power Hour" Radio show, but they had Brooks on and made the comment about how he got a goal and it was the first goal in 5 years for him. They laughed about it and Brooks even said that he didn't think he got it, but they credited him with it. So it still counts. They had a big laugh about this then went on their way.

1 goal in 5 years... that's when i knew we were in trouble.

When I saw we made a trade with Columbia I was wondering if it was to pay them back for Brenden Cook. Remember him? He was a guy that Patrick traded for in the offseason only to cut him during training camp. For the record Cook has 56 points in 54 games for the Austin Ice Bats of the CHL.

I know it looks bad on paper because we didn't get anyone back in return but let's be honest our season is done. I don't think there is any player or defenseman that can change that. Let's get as many futures as possible and look to rebuild for next year.

ok, lets get as many futures for next season and see how many don't show up. Just like the numerous players that didn't this season.

I wonder if we're just getting 'cash' for these guys in order to help make up revenue since attendance is down this year.

On the radio show last night, they said that they get to pick from the teams they traded with, for some of their "better" players.

Well, my question still stands. What's to say they won't refuse to show up for our team. It's happened a ton this year already.

At the end of the year when we pick the players we will own their rights. If they want to play in the ECHL again then they would have to play for Wheeling.

Yeah, once we hold their contract they either play for us or not in ECHL. Case in point is Franck who was one of our protected players from last year. He chose not to play here and now plays for the Youngstown Steelhounds of the CHL.

I was saying that as an example of the players we were supposed to get this season that thought it better to not play, than to play for a last place team.

Don't you think that after the season is over, they can tell us where to stick it and get better results from a different league?

Ha-Ha, I'm just a fan and want to tell them where to stick it!!!

It's the middle of first period in J'town as I write this and it's 4-0 already. Do you think Moondog will show up for his bobblehead night or be too embarassed??

You guys are too hard on this team. seriously, we just picked up Mike Gooch. THE Mike Gooch. We should be pumped to have a guy on the team like that. Especially since his last name rhymes with Cooch. Hey 3d, we're down 7-1 as I write this. What do you think the final will be?

Ok, we pulled darling, glad he didn't get the loss. But to let a goal in from a deflection off the glass. Come on. Vetri looks like he is 15 and looks exactly like the goalie goldberg from the mighty ducks movie.

And, Mike Gooch is only here for a few games, then he goes back to college.

Mike Gooch is the man. I hope we keep his rights for next year. GOOOOOOCH!
